The Core of Your Organization?

If I were to ask you what are the values of your organization
could you tell them to me? They are probably on the company website
somewhere or hung up in a back office or break room.

The values of any great organization or person are the core.

You may even be a bit skeptic on how one can hold someone accountable for these values.

Here is someone who did and what it did for their business.

Jamie Harden – CEO of Creative Sign Designs
Jamie and his leadership team came up with six values and then established behaviors around each of these values.

1. Teamwork 2. Sense of Urgency 3. Do the right thing every time 4. Commitment to Excellence 5. Innovation 6. Positive Outlook

Everyone that works there is evaluated based on these 6 values and knows exactly what the organization is looking for.

As a result turnover went down and performance and profit went up.

It’s one thing to decide on values but it is even more important to establish behaviors that represent those values.

“We look for and expect certain behaviors from our employees.” Former Southwest Airlines President

So…What are the values of your organization? And what behaviors demonstrate these values?
